For anyone considering the standard, "Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu - Cusco" trip, I would absolutely recommend extending the trip around Lake Titicaca and staying overnight at Isla Del Sol, Bolivia. I had never felt so close to nature in any other place I had visited.
